Introduction
Remus Lupin was born on March 10th, 1960, making him 33 years old when he was bitten by a werewolf and 36 years old when he first joined the Order of the Phoenix.
Early life
Remus John Lupin was born on March 10th, 1960, to Lyall and Hope Lupin (née Howell). He had one younger sister, Alexandria. His father worked at the Ministry of Magic in the Werewolf Registry, while his mother stayed at home to raise their children. When Remus was five years old, he was bitten by Fenrir Greyback, one of the most notorious werewolves alive. Lupin’s parents initially tried to keep him hidden from the public eye for fear that he would be discriminated against or hurt because of his affliction, but eventually decided that it would be best for him to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry so that he could be around others like himself and receive a proper education.
The werewolf bite
Remus Lupin was bitten by a werewolf at the age of six. He was then infected with lycanthropy, which is a curse that causes one to transform into a wolf-like creature during a full moon.
Later life
In his sixth year, Lupin was bitten by Fenrir Greyback and contracted lycanthropy. As a result, he was forced to leave his family and live as a werewolf for twelve years. Lupin eventually found sanctuary with the help of Sirius Black, James Potter, and Peter Pettigrew at 12 Grimmauld Place, the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix.
Death
Death is a natural part of life. We are born, we live, and we die. It is the one certainty that we all face, and it is something that we all must come to terms with in our own way.
For some, death is a fearful thing. It is an end to our time on this earth and a beginning of what comes next. We may not know what lies beyond the veil, but for many of us, that is part of the appeal. Death is a mystery, and it is one that we all will solve one day.
For others, death is seen as a release. It is an end to suffering, to pain, and to the problems of this world. It is a chance to move on to something better, something happier, and something more peaceful.
Death is also an inevitable part of life. No matter how much we may want to avoid it, it is something that we all must face sooner or later. And while it may be hard to accept at times, it is also something that can teach us a great deal about life, about ourselves, and about those around us.
Legacy
Remus Lupin was born on March 10th, 1960, to Lyall and Hope Lupin. Lyall was a celebrated Auror, and Hope was a talented Muggle-born witch. When Remus was just six months old, his parents were killed by a renegade Werewolf – thus beginning his long and difficult life.
A kind neighbor, Dora Tonks, took in the young Lupin and raised him alongside her own son, Nymphadora. Though she could never replace his parents, Dora did her best to give Remus a happy childhood.
When he was five years old, Dora enrolled Remus in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It was there that he made lifelong friends with James Potter and Sirius Black. Though he was hesitant at first, Remus soon came to love life at Hogwarts.
However, his time there was not all easy sailing. When he was just nine years old, Remus was bitten by Fenrir Greyback – one of the most dangerous Werewolves alive. From then on, Remus would be forced to wrestle with his lycanthropy for the rest of his life.
Despite the challenges he faced, Remus Lupin remained a kindhearted and loyal friend until the very end. He passed away on May 2nd, 1997 – just two weeks after the Battle of Hogwarts. He is survived by his wife, Nymphadora Tonks (nee Lupin), and their young son Teddy.
